What is Vertebral Subluxation?

When a bone is misaligned, it is known as “Vertebral subluxation” in Chiropractic terminology. These subluxations or misalignments can place significant stress on the spinal cord and the spinal nerves, which can result in interferences to the communication flow between the brain and body. This ultimately reduces the optimal functioning of the body’s muscle, tissue, and organ functions and can result in ill health, which can manifest in a variety of ways. (see “Chiropractic Helps” for more info) Additionally, subluxations can also alter the optimal structure of the spine and weaken it, making it unstable, and thereby increasing spinal degeneration.

Vertebral subluxations are often referred to as the “Silent Killer” because they can be present for long periods without any evidence of pain or symptoms. As only 10% of the entire nervous system perceives pain, 90% of the nerves in the body can be subjected to nerve interferences without showing any indications. However, no pain does not equate to good health.

Because Nerve Supply is Life Supply, subluxations must be corrected when found in order to ensure optimal health. Hence the saying goes,

“Optimal Spine = Optimal Health”
